About Ehsan HOSNANI

I started studying and reviewing cosmetics and fragrances in 2000 when I was a student. Back then, a hair dresser in my neighborhood was about to use a newly-bought gradual hair colorant on her customers but did not know how to use it. Gradual hair colorants were based on lead acetate and she was concerend about the safety and side effects. She asked me to translate the brochure for her and I did. I was curious about how a gradual hair colorant and other cosmetic products work and started to search and find proper answers to my questions. Gradually I found myself interested and involved in cosmetic industry.
I requested to spend a summer as a trainee in a cosmetic manufacturing company and they accepted. I was so innovative and enthusiastic in learning everything that attracted the attention of the managers and as a result, they employed me immediately after I graduated from university and finished my military service.
I worked for 18 months in R&D department and formulated lots of cosmetic, hair care and home care products. After two and half years of work as researcher, I concluded that I need to continue my educations to develop my capabilities. I left the company and wend back to the university to persue my master’s degree. When I was a student of masters, I got a job as translator for a cosmetic raw material supplier and made brochures for them and I am having that job so far. I have translated and prepared more than 200 brochures for the French-Canadian cosmetic raw material manufacturer company.
My style of work is I keep the original English equivalent of scientific terms at the footnote of each page in my translations. After 14 years of translation job, I gathered a valuable collection of English terms relevant to cosmetic industry and provided them as a glossary and named it as HOSNANI’s dictionary of cosmetic terms. It can be downloaded and used for the purpose of translation from English to Farsi with Babylon dictionary.
In 2014, I decided to establish this website and share my knowledge of cosmetic science. I have been providing a lot of contents on this website in Farsi. The idea of making a separate section for this website in English was to help people who want to travel to Iran and do business in this country and provide them the information they need.
