Chitgar Lake
Tehran artificial lake is located in the northern part of Chitgar Park and is a place for rafting and hiking. Around this attractive place there are high towers and buildings. Swimming in the lake is prohibited. This lake was supposed to be built more than 40 years ago. But after a long delay it has been opened recently.
Almost 30,000 citizens visit Chitgar Lake every day.
Chitgar lake has a purifying effect on Tehran's air.
Chitgar lake has an area of about 160 hectares with capacity to hold 10 million m3 of water.
