National museum of Iran
National museum of Iran or archaeology museum was built in an area of 2700 square meters.
Historical monuments are hosted in this museum. Pottery vessels, metal objects, textile remains, and some rare books and coins are there.
The Museum of Ancient Iran was designed by a French architect in the early 20th century. The museum was officially opened in 1937. The museum remodeled after 1979 Revolution.
The National Museum of Iran is the combination of two buildings:
• Museum of Ancient Iran
• Museum of the Islamic Iran.
The older building consists of three halls. The halls contain artifacts and fossils. The newer building consists of three floors. It contains various pieces of pottery, textiles, texts, artworks, astrolabes, and adobe calligraphy, from Iran's post-Islamic era.
Plans are underway for the construction of another building, as the current ones lack the capacity and standards for preserving all of the excavated treasures.
