Golestan Palace

Golestan palace was manufactured in 1268 to the order of King Naser. Shams-ol-Emareh building is situated in the Golestan group of royal buildings. Shams-ol-Emareh is a tall building with 2 towers and has been renovated and modernized during the past few decades. Golestan palace is part of the big historic Arg of Tehran which was served as official residence of kings of Qajar dynasty.
The historical background of royal palace dates back to Safavid era. The Marble Throne (Takht e Marmar), Karim Khani Nook (Khalvat e Karim Khani), Pond House (Howz Khaneh) are famous in this collection. During Reza Shah Era Golestan palace was served as reception place for foreign guests and the royal residence transferred to saad abad palace. After the revolution, Golestan complex turned to museum so everybody could visit it.
