نفوذ به پوست - قسمت اول کاهش اندازه ذرات
پوست انسان سد نفوذ ناپذیری است که مواد به آسانی به داخل آن نفوذ نمی کند. به همین دلیل باید راه هایی پیدا کرد که بتوانیم مواد موثره و ترکیبات دارویی را به داخل پوست وارد کنیم. یکی از این راه ها که ساده ترین آن ها هم هست، این است که سایز آنها را کاهش دهیم. مثلا کلاژن و الاستین مولکول های بزرگی هستند و به راحتی به پوست نفوذ نمی کنند. آنها از جنس پروتئین هستند. ولی اگر پروتئین را کوچک کنیم به پپتیدها واسیدهای آمینه تبدیل می شوند. پپتیدها و اسیدهای آمینه راحت تر به داخل پوست نفوذ میکنند. یا مثلا هیالورونیک اسید یک مولکول پلیمری است و از تعداد زیادی واحد همشکل تشکیل شده است. کوچک کردن سایز هیالورونیک اسید می تواند به افزایش نفوذ آن کمک کند.
کلمه امگا (Omega) را روی بعضی از ترکیبات آرایشی بهداشتی دیدید حتما. مثلا امگا 3، امگا 6، امگا 9. این ها همین اسیدهای چرب ضروری هستند. در کنارش کلسترول و سرامید این ها ملات سیمانی لایه شاخی را تشکیل می دهند. خوب این لایه شاخی با این ملات سیمانی و این ترکیبات جاذب الرطوبه کاری می کند که رطوبت از پوست خارج نشود.

در پوستی که حساس نیست لایه سدی پوست یکپارچه است. سلولها منظم کنار هم قرار گرفته اند و از نفوذ عوامل بیگانه به خوبی محافظت می کنند. اما در پوست حساس شکاف ایجاد شده است. مثل دیواری که ترک برداشته و سرما از آن عبور می کند. پوست حساس هم شکافهایی دارد که عوامل آسیب رسان از آن عبور می کنند و به پوست می رسند. از آنجا که مواد آسیب رسان خودشان را به لایه بازال می رسانند و پایانه های عصبی را تحریک می کنند احساس سوزش ایجاد می شود. احساس سوزش توسط سلولهای مرکل و همچنین رشته های عصبی ازاد که به داخل اپیدرم راه دارد احساس می شود. قرمزی پوست به این علت ایجاد می شود که سلولهای کراتینوسیت با دریافت پیام وجود عوامل آلرژی زا شروع به تولید موادی به نام مواد واسطه التهابی می کنند. به این مواد مدیاتورهای التهابی نیز گفته می شود.
در این شکل دوباره آن لایه سدی را با هم دیگر می بینیم. همان طور که مشخص است این جا دیوار لایه شاخی (Stratum corneum) ما است. سلول ها را ببینید، این سلول های لایه شاخی را ببینید که چقدر مرتب قرار گرفتند، در بینش لیپیدها قرار گرفته، این کلمه سرامید (Ceramide) یعنی همان لیپیدها و قشنگ یک دیوار منظم را ایجاد کرده است.
